My name is Paulina Mabhugu and I’m excited and grateful at the opportunity to join Meadows Montessori. I’m looking forward to building lasting connections with the children, parent and staff community and providing a stellar environment and Montessori education at Meadows Montessori. I have always been interested in Montessori education because I recognized that this method of education offers children the unique opportunity to pursue what interests them. Originally from Zimbabwe, I hold a bachelor’s degree in education, an associate degree in Early Childhood Development, and an American Montessori Society (AMS) Early Education Montessori Certification (3-6 years old). My teaching career began 30 years ago in Zimbabwe as a High School teacher. When I was expecting my first daughter, I explored the Montessori method of education. I fell in love with the Montessori pedagogy and dedicated 18 years as a Children’s House Guide in Montgomery, Charles and Prince George’s counties in Maryland. I have upwards of 8 years in Montessori School administration as a Curriculum and Administrative Director and Head of School.
In my free time I love visiting historical sites, hydroponic gardening, and spending time with my family and friends. Always remember: Montessori Education isn’t an alternative – It’s a transformation.
