I’ve been involved in Montessori education since 2001. Through my own two children’s experiences as Montessori students, I witnessed the deep impact that the Montessori Method had in providing my children so many valuable life skills, allowing their unique talents and skills to unfold naturally through their innate urges and motivation in a non-competitive and peaceful environment. As an involved parent, my interest and commitment to Montessori education grew as I researched and read books by and about Dr. Maria Montessori and her philosophy. My respect for the Montessori learning method became my lifestyle approach and changed my life.

I opened my first Montessori environment in Montgomery County in 2005 to teach 2 – 6-year-olds, including my son, in the Primary classroom. I earned an Early Childhood Montessori Certification through MACTE, have been a Montessori Early Childhood teacher and business owner for over 10 years, a wife and mother of two children, a member of the International Montessori Council, a member of the American Montessori Society, a member of the Organization for Child Care Directors in Montgomery County, a member of the Frederick County Child Care Directors Association, and continue to pursue professional development opportunities.

I received my B.A. degree from the University of Maryland in 1991 and left the real estate world within the Frederick community in 2005 to follow my passion for children and Montessori education. I am enrolled at Sarasota University to obtain a Masters degree in Montessori Leadership; I enjoy working towards achieving my highest potential. To keep a balance, I love spending time in nature, quality time with family and friends, reading inspirational and spiritual books, meditation, and having quiet moments to myself.

I’m very excited for the new school year and welcome your questions, comments, feedback and/or ideas about Meadows Montessori so we can continue to offer the very best to our Meadows Family. Thank you for your trust, support, and partnership in raising children the Montessori way. I encourage you to attend parent education events at our school, stay connected to our school community, and learn more about Dr. Montessori, her life and work.
